Market Busking ~ 11 June 2011

June 11, 2011

Thank you to the Market patrons who show their support!  Celtic Discovery Performing Troupe is
determined to fundraise enough money to send them to France at the end of  July!  They are enrolled for a week at  the Celtic College, Amzer Nevez, where they will  learn Breton style fiddle with Fred Samzun, Breton Dance and Irish music with  Kevin Burke!  They will be performing at  the College and will later attend the Festival Interceltique de Lorient  where they will be exposed to some of the world’s most talented Celtic  musicians and dancers!

The Troupe will  be busking one more time before their trip, so if you hear them, stop by and  support their fundraising!!  In the  meantime, they have a few more private shows and a BIG performance in Officers’  Square on July 5th!!  So  please, join them for some foot stompin’ music!

Don’t forget … or in case you don’t know … we are selling tickets on a Maurice Gamblin wood turned salad bowl!!  We have more tickets to sell, so if you want to buy one, please let us know.  The tickets are $5 each and we will be drawing the lucky winner at the end of June at the Tobique Fiddle Camp!!  Thank you Maurice for donating the bowl!

Celtic Discovery Performing Troupe Busking at the Boyce Farmers Market (28 May 2011)

Another Saturday, another opportunity to entertain Market fans!!  The Troupe loves to busk at the Boyce Farmers’ Market but this was another cold morning!  It’s a busy weekend for the young musicians.  Last night they gave a very energetic show at the Nashwaaksis Middle School Theatre, today they busked from 6am until 1pm and tonight they are playing at a wedding!!

They will be busking again later this year so if you hear them, drop by, say hello and throw your change into the fiddle case!  The Troupe is fundraising for a trip to France this summer where they will be studying Breton fiddle and dance at Amzer Nevez and then they are going to attend the first part of the Festival Interceltique de Lorient!!

Some photos for you to enjoy!!
